today i was just checking the homes for sale and saw few lots for sale. the price of 0.3 acre lot was 89K-110k in wakefield plantation area. the houses (2500- 3000 sqft) in these area are priced between 350-450k. i just want to explore the possiblity of buying a lot and built a house. but not sure what could be the cost of building a house ( 2200-2800 sq ft) ?

can anyone give me an idea? i just want to compare the total cost of buying a lot & building a house and buying a resale home.

I think it really depends on what materials you use. General construction is probably going to run a minimum $100 per sq ft (my friend built a 4000 sq ft home and spent about $130 a sq ft), especially with the higher end materials. A company like U-Build-It might be able to help you make more sense of whether you should build or buy resale.
