Well, good news is, we're already seeing this thing stirring up the Atlantic. If you look at the radar over eastern SC/GA, you'll see what I mean. This could get the ball rolling for us after 2am. This seems to be filling in a bit of a dry patch in central SC/NC in the coming hours.

That's good! The snow seems to be slowing down right now, hopefully it picks back up.

Well...it's encouraging:

Quote:
"If you haven't seen any accumulated snow and you're thinking, 'oh gee, here we go again, another storm that's going to fall apart,' nothing could be further from the truth," said WRAL Chief Meteorologist Greg Fishel.

The core of the storm is not even close to being here yet, Fishel added.

Snow was falling all along the East Coast, and as far south as Montgomery, Alabama, around midnight Saturday.

A "heavy hitting" of snow was expected in the overnight hours, continuing Sunday morning and possibly into the afternoon.
I also just peeked outside..it's coming down pretty hard and just starting to stick on all surfaces.

I can tell that the road is starting to get a little slushy.

The snow is surely sticking, looks like we'll get at least 6" in Chapel Hill. If only it was during school time, I'd probably miss a couple of days, hahaha.

Just checkin the radar...the dry gaps to the immediate south of us are filling in quite nicely with heavy snow. I expected the snow would ease up slightly til about 4...but it looks like it will remain moderate then we'll get some heavy snow at dawn til about 9 or 10. I'd love to see some heavy snow...but I'll probably be asleep during it...darn. It may be a good clip of inch per hour...

Edit: I just peeked outside...the flakes are HUGE! and it's really sticking to everything now.
