I have to believe it is the settings on the new wideband modems that is causing this. I am on the Verizon MiFi and seeing zero packet loss.... (I use it exclusively while traveling).
I am going to get home and play around with the router. If you make any headway let me know RDUBiker..
NG2, I did try mucking with a ton of settings and didn't seem to make a big difference although I mostly tested speed at that time.
The big ones I can think of that would affect this are MTU and the firewall settings. What I also don't know is if this is a true failure, i.e. everything I'm doing online is taking a huge performance loss and having to re-send packets, or if it's not "for real" and I'm getting what I expect. How can I find out? Who knows.
I'm definitely switching to U-Verse when I move inside the beltline in 2 months... the speeds are better, and it's so much cheaper overall than twc. 12MB down, 1.5MB up for $29.95.
Wow, check out the speeds and prices on Greenlight, the city of Wilson's internet service. I can see why the cable and phone industries are paying off the Republicans to ban the ability of municipalities to create internet service for their residents. God forbid "govt" pick up where the "free market" fails.
Check your 'Direct Messages' -- I sent information on how to change it.
I got that and responded by email last week. However, does the same method work for changing it back in case I want to do that? I plan to test tonight.
