NG2, I did try mucking with a ton of settings and didn't seem to make a big difference although I mostly tested speed at that time.

The big ones I can think of that would affect this are MTU and the firewall settings. What I also don't know is if this is a true failure, i.e. everything I'm doing online is taking a huge performance loss and having to re-send packets, or if it's not "for real" and I'm getting what I expect. How can I find out? Who knows.

I'm definitely switching to U-Verse when I move inside the beltline in 2 months... the speeds are better, and it's so much cheaper overall than twc. 12MB down, 1.5MB up for $29.95.

I don't see how you can hit those speeds with 58% packet loss. You shouldn't be able to load the pages with that amount of loss.

You got me. I have no idea, but the web is snappy, that's for sure.

Here's what's depressing. While everyone is gaga over 30/5, this explains why I upload photos at work.

Wow, check out the speeds and prices on Greenlight, the city of Wilson's internet service. I can see why the cable and phone industries are paying off the Republicans to ban the ability of municipalities to create internet service for their residents. God forbid "govt" pick up where the "free market" fails.

Tier Down UP
10Mbps Tier 10 Mbps 10 Mbps $34.95
20Mbps Tier 20 Mbps 20 Mbps $54.95
40Mbps Tier 40 Mbps 40 Mbps $74.95
60Mbps Tier 60 Mbps 60 Mbps $99.95
100Mbps Tier 100 Mbps 100 Mbps $149.95

Greenlight: Internet Service

RDUBiker -- after changing the setting to 'bridged mode' all my problems appear to have been fixed. See above.

Hmmm...do you seem to notice anything else has changed? Maybe snappier downloads, sites responding faster, etc? Or is that the only change?

Just tested mine again:

I got that and responded by email last week. However, does the same method work for changing it back in case I want to do that? I plan to test tonight.
