I have been looking for a long-term solution to prevent my gutters from clogging frequently. It can get real expensive and I have been looking into gutter covers, but have read where that can cause issues as well. That being said, I saw something that would appear to solve my problem and would definitely be a game changer if it actually works as demonstrated.
This product is called the Hedgehog Gutter Brush. Is anyone familiar with this and/or ever used it before? If so, what is your feedback on the product and do you think it is worth the investment? Here is the link Hedgehog Gutter Brush - Keeping gutters and drains clear all year

Check out this article from Consumer Reports about gutter guards:
I notice that the gutter brush is at the bottom of the pile although they did not specify the brand. This is not very encouraging .. what is a guy suppose to do?
My take is the combination of needles and leaves make it very tough to make these solutions work. It might be easier in a different region.
We just pay a gutter cleaning service - they give everything a good look on the roof while cleaning the gutters too.
I agree - the various gutter guards I have seen/tried work well with one thing, such as leaves. Then the pine straw gets stuck in them and starts to trap more stuff. I used to do my own gutters but the ones on my house now are too high, so I use a cleaning service.
I would really prefer to not have any gutters. If the grading and landscaping are done correctly around the house, I don't think they are needed.

Go with a recommended brand/model! We have Leaf Guard and have no issues. It has a lifetime cleanout and warranty. I had to call them a few months ago and they came out promptly and cleaned them out!
While Leaf Guard was close to the most expensive on the list a highly recommended one was close to 30 cents a foot!

I've been thinking about hiring a gutter service. Can you give me an idea of what the rate is? I know it will be different for each house, but I have no clue what to expect.

Thanks!
Mine charges $50 for a 2-story 1800sf house. They come while I'm at work and leave a bill for me to pay. Works out great!
I saw this on woot a while back, but couldn't actually bring myself to buy it. Before I clicked on the link in the original post, and saw what a hedgehog gutter brush actually is, it made me think of this.
I used a leaf relief knock off at $4/linear foot installed. I am very satisfied. The cover sits 1/4" below the top of the gutter and stops clogging at the downspout. The wind blows some stuff off but what remains does not affect the downspout. The water runs through the debris. I bought a 25' extension and with a broom attachment I can walk around my house and drag the broom the clean off the guard. Takes 10 minutes.
I had it installed early spring in a very heavily wooded back yard that has a lot of pine trees. The seed pods that I used to have to clear once a week: no issue. The pine straw that drops during hot/drought times: no issue. My foundation area has never been drier.
