Yes, our relo packet lists some of these, but being a newbie to the area, I want to make sure they are the only options, and not sponsored suggestions.
In NOLA, we only have Entergy for electricity. I understand some cities offer options to some utility services.
Please let me know your recommendations for the above services or if I don't have any options.
The only choice you have is phone/Internet. There are many threads on here about that. The others are Water = Town of Cary, Electricity = Progress Energy, Gas = PSNC.

Yep. You're stuck with what we've got. As far as internet goes we use Uverse and haven't had any issues with it. Phone we just use our cell phones.
Thanks Don. I read through about 4 pages of posts on here searching for the answer, but I must have ADD or something, b/c I allowed myself to be distracted for about 2 hours reading the other posts.
Thanks for the info. Any suggestions on Phone/Internet?
We have Uverse for our phone/internet too and haven't had any issues. DH works from home and is happy with the internet buses vonage for business phone. We have Directv for t.v.
Good luck with your move.
BTW when I called Town of Cary to get water/sewer/sanitation set up the guy I spoke to was unbelievably helpful. If you are overwhelmed, call there first because he had lots of useful info (he used to work for Progress Energy).
Progress Energy is all about the upsale. They tried to talk us into all sorts of things for small monthly fees. Protection against our home being hit by lightening and so forth. My favorite was the program to send out an electrician who had a criminal record with no more than two misdemeanors. I thought that was odd.
They also have a program where they will pay you $25/year if you agree to let them turn your A/C off and on during peak usage (i.e. really hot days). They were persistent about that one, even sent fellows to the house.
Took me forever to get through all the offers then they switched me to another person. I forget what they called her but I was under the impression she would be helping me set up sewer and water. Oh, but no. This woman tried her darndest to get me to sign up for ATT internet.
We went with Time Warner and it seems to be working out well except when I see them advertise a package that is $10 less a month than we're paying.
