My husband and I just recently moved into our first new house together. Its exciting and great however, this also means we need to buy a washer and dryer. Seeing as we just bought a house and are expecting a baby in February, we are trying to save as much money as possible. Does anyone know of a place where you can buy washers and dryers for a great price? I know up in CT they have scratch and dent stores and you can usually find great deals on appliances that may just have one or two minor blemishes. I would really like to find a place down here that has the same kind of store. Any help would be very appreciated!! Thank you in advance.

Lowes and Home deport will have , at each location, various appliances that will be marked down. I think that Lowes bring new ones out on a Friday afternoon.
You can sweeten the deals by using % off discount coupons that can be bought off Ebay or signed up for on the dealers web site.
Sears has a scratch and dent outlet on east Six Forks Road near to Costco. I got an LG fridge freezer from there for $1600 instead of list $3200.
Check Ebay also for local appliances

Hi and welcome to the area! I know places like Lowe's and Home Depot have some floor models they discount that maybe scratched or banged up a bit. I would also try Craig's List under household items. I just looked and there are many listing for slightly used washer and dryers people are selling. Search under Washers. raleigh craigslist > household items: search for "washer"

Good luck with your new home and new baby on the way!

Are you talking about Manny's? I remember those commercials. I am not sure about those here but I just bought a great starter washer and dryer at Best Buy. I found the online price as 314.99 but the store price was 349.99, the guy matched it. They are by Whirpool and get great ratings. The total came to 720, not sure if that is something you are interested in. To get the deal, just mention the online price with the model number and I am sure they will work with you. Good luck.

I agree with the Lowe's suggestion. For months, I had wanted a particular appliance, but refused to pay the high price. One day, I was in Lowes, and they had a scratch/dent one (couldn't even see the 'flaw'), so I got it for a steal.

There is a used appliance place up at the Apex Marketplace on Center st. It's in the back next to the beef jerky people. I haven't checked their prices but it's worth a look since they are all used and they all seemed to be in pretty good condition. good luck!

Sears has a Scratch and Dent appliance store in Raleigh. It is located at their Parts Center.

I bought 2 appliances there and am very happy. After all a scratch really doesn't show when it is nested within a row of cabinets depending on your room configuration.

I second the sears outlet on six forks. I picked up a progressive vacumn for 149 last week. I also second the Lowes idea -- my refrigerator was a dent and scratch 650 for a 1900 appliance isn;'t too bad. and you can;t see the dent.
