I am going to be living in 27615, North Raleigh near North Ridge country club. Anybody know qwhich cable and pphone company's service this area and which ones are best/best rates? thanks
BellSouth is horrible. Poor customer service and high prices.
As for cable, you've got one choice in Wake Co. - Time Warner. I recommend getting TWC along with their internet service (RoadRunner), then getting a VoIP phone line like Vonage or Packet8. TWC offers this service too but at almost twice what it costs from a third party.
I have this set up and pay less than $80 / month for cable tv (basic package), RR, and Packet8 phone service. No extra charges for long distance either.
As stated above your only choice for local land line phone service is Bellsouth and your only choice for cable service is Timewarner. I haven't had any problems with Bellsouth, but I use my cell phone to make all long distance calls to avoid the outrageous long distance rates. I've never really liked Timewarner cable's service or programming, but I don't even have the option to get it where I live now. Plans are to bring it down the road I live on, but I'm not giving up my DirecTV, which I've had very little problems with.
Well maybe I should clairify: I use Bellsouth for my home phone but took off long distance since my cell phone covers that for free. I also use Bellsouth for my internet access. Years ago, had some issues with the internet going down but I can honestly say those problems very seldom arise. Hope this helps.
Also...in some areas you don't get to choose, its just whose lines are in the area. For instance, I sold a home in Franklinton and the only choice they had was Sprint/Embarq. Vicki
