Durham/North Durham Landscaper Recommendation? (Raleigh, Cary: chapel, landscaping, contractors)

I have a small hill that divides my yard from my neighbor's, and I'm tired of mowing it. It's rocky and steep, and I would like to landscape it to make it maintenance free, or at least nearly maintenance free.

Does anyone have a landscaper they can recommend me? We live in N Durham.

Does anyone have a suggestion that I could do it myself? I am always open to saving money.

Adam at The Natural Accent (recommended to me by other CDers) did a great job with our raised beds. Not cheap, but good.

I've used TROSA for simpler things like mowing and digging beds. I would recommend New Leaf Landscaping for creating something beautiful.

We did some major work in our yard. I used a landscape architect from Chapel Hill and hired people to do jobs we couldn't do ourselves like regrading, taking down large trees, and laying sod. The spreading of mulch and planting trees/shrubs are all jobs we are qualified to do ourselves. We paid for the plans from the architect then chose our own contractors to do the work. It was well worth every penny since we now get a discount at John Deere nursery under the architects account. Anyway, we used Dave Wadford with Accent Design. He was affordable, honest, and picks trees/shrubs that are not "fancy" (readily available and we didn't have to search out some strange variety).
