I am looking for ideas for an office Christmas party to be held during the day in the Raleigh/Durham area. Normally we will do an afternoon of bowling. We usually have a great time but I was hoping to possibly do something similar but not bowling. Would anyone have any ideas I can look into?

While not similar to bowling, Artistic Abandon offers private paint parties Artistic Abandon Private Parties It is a good way for a team building activity.

(There are other painting venues in the area but I know this one could accommodate during the day.)

Our office parties used to be at night but you could probably do during the day as well - they would rent out a convention room from a hotel and host a game night - apparently some company in the area does this - they bring in a roulette wheel, poker table, etc - several stations of games, plus a bar. We used tickets instead of money and had a raffle at the end.

Ha, if you could work in drinking into the event, it is sure to be a hit no matter what you do or where you go, lol.

Also, I saw Cat Banjo in Cameron Village posted this today on their Facebook page - they are hosting holiday evening shopping parties. Again, not a fit for your daytime request, but it might be useful to others.

We go to Rush Hour Karting in Garner. The team absolutely loves it! Food can be catered as well.

Thank you all for your ideas!
We have actually had the casino tables here one year already. Employees had fun but they felt they would have rather gone away from work. I had looked into Frankies which also seems like fun but it is family orientated and they do not serve "Christmas cheer". I did not however look into Rush Hour which is right down our alley but have already put a deposit on Natty Green's in downtown Raleigh. They have a private room with pool tables a bar and two screen tv's. They also have a pretty good party menu with reasonable prices. We figured we would do lunch and have a few Wii bowling games a few games of pool.
We also give out gift certificates so if anyone has any ideas on some fun ways to win a gift certificate I am still open for them.

Our employers recently instituted a no alcohol policy at events because
of liability risk. Yours must be more flexible to have "holiday cheer"!
