My garden is looking pathetic lol. I know I should get out there to water but I keep holding out hope we'll get a good downpour or two. Guess if I get home this afternoon and it still hasn't rained I'll break out the watering can. Anyone know a good rain dance?
Fall is typically the driest season here in North Carolina. So this kinda dry spell is nothing unusual, The year had been really super wet until the last couple months, I never recalled having so many bad storms during the summer.
The good news is Winter is normally one of the wettest times of the year. The gray skies are a coming. And hopefully some decent snow days.
Over the past month, we've officially had 0.65" of rain. Normal is 3.06". Winter is actually the driest time of the year for us, although we're fairly even throughout the year except for a summer bump.
Had to laugh a bit as it's all what you're used to I suppose.... Being from Texas, I'm thinking it seems to rain here all the time! Not a lot mind you, but I think it's at least drizzled once a week since I've been here. And with the drought there, you CAN'T water your lawn even if you wanted to, so maybe I'm just used to things being brown. Hope you get your wish though.

November and December are the two driest months out side of April. And are techincally fall moreso as winter dosent start until the 21st of December through nearly the end of march and March the majority of which is winter generally speaking is quite rainy. At any rate January is definitely wetter historically than October, November or December.
I have a bunch of azaleas dying! At first I couldn't figure out why they were all turning yellow and then it dawned it on me that it hasn't rained! I never think about watering this time of year...
Me neither! And for a lot of plants I have the philosophy of "If it can't take care of itself, it wasn't meant to be," so I tend to plant native plants. But even those are struggling right now :/

I know. I've never seen an azalea die! and some of the ones dying are probably 20-30 years old!

Are you sure they don't need some acidic plant food?
