A very good band is The Design:

Sugar the Band - Raleigh NC - THE DESIGN

This band (and any good one) is going to be quite a bit more than $600, however. You're probably best off with a DJ.

We used All Around Raleigh DJ for our wedding in April and seriously can't say enough about him. He was so much fun and got our totally non-dancing families ALL over the dance floor! He really went with the flow and helped people to let loose and enjoy themselves. He was also more affordable then a few others we interviewed!

We like Steelwater. We have seen them at 42nd Street Oyster Bar, and they had a fun set list.

About Steelwater

My husband used to be in bands, and IMO a band that is used to playing out at bars late night may cut you a price break for a nice wedding gig with normal hours. It is nice not to have to tear down at 2:00 am. Price probably also depends on how long you want them to play and whether you want specific song requests that are not in their usual repetoire. The kind of bands (similar to Steelwater) that DH used to play in would charge $500 for the night.

Default Lenny Fritz , DJ

I've been to several events with Lenny Fritz--super. Professional,
entertaining, and good variety of music for all ages.

Ben with Southern Entertainment is doing our reception in January. We are getting really good deals with all of our vendors because we are getting married in the off season. That's something to think about if the date isn't already set and you can be flexible.
