I am going to a concert tomorrow at Red Hat, I'm getting their early because I have a ticket in the pit and need to claim a spot. Anyway the doors open at 6:30 so if I get there around 6, is there any chance there will be nearby street parking for free? I know there is a deck across the street that runs about 7 bucks but would rather just walk further and not have to pay. Any suggestions?

thanks for your help,

Around 6 you should be able to find street parking very close by which is free after 5 or so. We normally can find a spot around Poole's or a couple of the roads right by there. Much after 6 you will be paying for parking

the meters run until 5 pm.

after 6 pm, most of the "Commercial Loading Only" signs expire.

so, there will be lots if free on-street parking. Will you beat other folks also looking for free parking? Nobody knows, but you should be OK.

In case that does not work out (The music goes all day, so there might be extra people in town, I'm starting to believe the 60k number), you can also park at any of the OTHER decks. They are free after 7PM, but only $1/hr before, so it will cost you $1 if you get there after 6, $2 if before. The one all the way over by Lincoln Theater is usually open. It seems far, but it's about a 5-10 minute walk, max.

Obviously, if you find Street parking, go for it. (Also, down around brewmasters is a good place to find a spot, sometimes...)

Default NOT near the Performing Arts Center

They are now towing cars without employee hang tags in the lots
toward Shaw University. The fee is $100---and colleagues have
the receipt!~

Considering the size of the Bluegrass festival, I don't think you will find parking. I would just fork over 7 bucks. This thing is going to be a monster.
