We have a rising 6th grader who is currently in a Raleigh Autism class in 5th grade. We know that in Wake County...school assignment to a base school is the current rule. We would still like to hear from folks who can recommend a middle school Autism classroom in the Wake Forest area or even the north Raleigh area. Our son is assigned to Heritage Middle School, however we are hearing really good things about Wakefield Middle School Autism classroom. Does anyone have any knowledge about any of these classrooms? We might get stuck going to Heritage and denied a transfer request...so any and all feedback about schools in the area with an Autism classroom would be most appreciated. Thanks much!!
