Hi all, This is my first time here. I had requested a transfer for my kiids due to change is address but was denied. here is my story...my older child is a sixth grader. Our base school was east cary, since my younger one is in cedar fork, to keep them on same calendar I applied to west cary. This transfer was granted. Soon after this we signed a contract for a home where the base middle school is davis drive. I then applied for the hardship transfer to davis drive middle for my older and green hope for my younger one. They were both denied today. I am very concern very concerned at ths point, I now have 2 kids with no school transportation , one in middle and one in elemtary and both me and my husband work and my husband travels. There is no way I can drop them both and get to work. I am looking to appeal , but am afraid , what if it gets rejected? Any input on how to appeal this will be very appreciated. Thansk in advance

They are enrolled in cedar fork and West cary but according to new address the base schools are carpenter (applied to green hope but was denied )and davis drive middle. I have a 2nd grader and a rising 6th grader.

I want them enrolled in green hope and davis drive so they can get school transportation and be on same calendar.

If you are living in the Davis Drive Middle base zone, you shouldn't need a hardship transfer. That school is not capped. Neither is Green Hope for that matter.

Like Kelly, I'm not sure if I'm misreading your post or what. it doesn't really make any sense.

Do you mean you are trying to change their enrollment for the fall? or immediately?

I don't understand how it is a hardship transfer if you are moving. Wouldn't that be a regular change in enrollment for the fall? Esp for Davis drive...you said it is the base school but you were denied a transfer to Davis Drive?

I was told that since I had earlier requested a transfer for west cary and it was granted, I cannot be transfered to davis drive middle even tho its my base school.
