I am so glad we have year round. It has been absolutely wonderful for our family and have been able to travel off season to places we couldn't have done on a traditional schedule. I also think its much better for the kids because they don't get bored and forget knowledge on the year round schedule near as much. I find that they spend a lot less time on review each year so get a lot more instruction time.

So it doesn't work for you.....that is fine as not every family is the same...but at least be honest about it all.
I was being honest. I clearly said it was MY preference and what I noticed when teaching, but again, I only taught it for one year. I would not do it again. MY opinion, but not dishonest.

Also, if you're a working parent, there are no "long leisurely days of summer" It's just a scramble to get up, get ready and get off to camp! So that makes no difference whether it happens every 9 weeks or for the whole summer. My older two are now on Traditional after being Year Round all through elementary and they get a little bored in the summer. They're too old for camps, I'm at work all day and going to the pool starts to lose it's allure....
