Has anyone seen any big, seeded watermelons for sale this weekend? Not sure why but my husband likes those over the seedless ones that are so easy to find everywhere!
Thanks in advance for reporting any sightings.

Thanks for your reply.
Looking forward to local, fresh ones at the Farmer's Market but for now we found some at Aldi's.

My wife says the seeded ones taste better - she's pretty insistent on it too. I like watermelon, but I'm not a fanatic so I usually don't care which I have. We usually pick them up at the farmer's market in Raleigh. They are fairly difficult to find in the local chain grocery stores.

Keep checking the Farmers Markets, and look for the Charleston Gray. Big, sweet, local. Done.

Seeded watermelons absolutely do taste better.

Unseeded watermelons are more American, though: More Convenience, less quality.

Aldi had decent (not great) Florida grown seeded watermelons for $3.99 last week. Might want to check there.

More American, and a whole lot less southern. How the heck are you going to have a watermelon seed spitting contest if you don't have any seeds

I wanted watermelon yesterday when I got home from the beach, and there won't one to be had anywhere around North Hills...unseeded or not.

This is true right here. Things have seasons. At least, outside of a store they do...
