Anyone willing to share their thoughts about working for MetLife in Raleigh? I've got an offer but am trying to determine if its the right move for my family.

What exactly do you want to know?

Yeah... I read that part.

I was just wondering what sorts of thoughts? I mean, people cannot come on here and badmouth MetLife, because that would violate the TOS (complaints about companies) and if they say anything positive, it won't mean much unless they work in the same unit with the same team as the OP.

That was really my point, I guess.

If the question was more about the benefits of relocating, the area here in general for people who've relocated to work for Met, that would probably get more answers.

I know we have members who work there.

I'm just looking for opinions in general. Doesn't mean they have to bad mouth them. But some honest insight into the working conditions and thoughts about their future in Cary would be very appreciated.

This is a big decision especially when it impacts families.

Thanks.

PM me for the name of a website where people can give anonymous ratings for various companies (not allowed to post it publically). I know MetLife is on there because at one time I was looking into them.

I understand.

I was hoping that if you clarified a little more, you might get more responses.

Want me to go take a pic of their new office building for you? I can almost walk there from my house.

It's a lovely location. I think your family would like the area unless you're just really into an urban sort of existence.

I hope you get some info. Do send Francois a message.

Actually I did PM Francois. The website he suggested was one I was already familiar with.

The problem is that some times the only people that submit reviews for companies are ones that have had a bad experience.

Specifically for the Raleigh area there isn't many reviews at this point to really get a good picture of what it's like.

Thanks

Where are you living now? Is this a very far relocation for your family?

MetLife is really just getting established here in Cary. That could be to your advantage, as many of your coworkers would either be new to MetLife or new to the area (or both).

I'm actually located in the Raleigh area now and work for one of the larger companies. So there wouldn't be a need to move.

In fact that's why I'm considering MetLife because the company I'm with now has the potential to move in a couple of years and I want to keep my family here.
