Anyone have a child in the Expedition School in Hillsborough? We were just allotted a seat in the lottery for our Kindergartener but since the school is so new I am nervous about sending him. We toured it last week and it seemed very nice but Cameron Park seems great too. Any advice?

I don't have a kid there, but I have a friend who does and she loves it for her son.

I don't have a kid there, but there is a lot of positive chatter about it. We didn't apply because we are happy at Hillsborough Elementary and didn't want to lose our spot there. But if you are zoned for Cameron Park, you can always go back to Cameron Park if Expedition doesn't work out for you.

One thing I would keep in mind about Expedition is that their calendar is different from all of the other schools. It is year round, but not the same year round schedule as Hillsborough Elementary or other area schools. It has to do with how they get their funding, and they hope to get to be on a more typical year round schedule within a few years, but they aren't there yet. I think that there are also other things that aren't totally set up for them yet because they are so new.
