Hi all,

I found about a dozen of these little orangish bugs on my blinds today. They're probably no bigger than a couple of millimeters. I've attached two pictures, one taken with flash and one without.

Anyone know what these are? Google has been less than helpful.

Thanks!

1) Good photos are essential for identification. Yours aren't satisfactory. Try again. Perhaps your camera has a close-up feature which isn't being used.
2) If C-D contributors can't provide a solid identification try sending good photos to Dr. Matthew Bertone at NCSU.

I don't even want to say this, but honestly those look like termites.

can't tell anything from the first, other than it looks closer to an aphid-like critter than anything. Both look like they could be household plant pests.

I sent the detailed images over to NCSU's Department of Entomology. They are booklice: Booklice- ENT/rsc-26

Thanks for the responses though - I was a bit worried when someone mentioned termites

Whew. Booklice does seem the lesser evil. They eat books? I thought they looked small for termites, but I guess baby termites are small?
