DirectTV or whatever in all the Wal-Marts and Costcos TV departments.
Some bathtub company at BJ's,
And, the worst: Cary Towne Center Mall!
Some lady in black tights asks me (69 yrs old) if I want some sample of something I guess that goes on my skin. I always tell them "no thanks, I still have bad acne." There are two of these peddlers in the mall now. One of them looks like she has her under-age kids staffing some self-service candy counter, with a prices that are more than my Publix salmon, per pound!
Further down the center aisle, some guy in red scrubs and white rubber gloves gives me a TSA flashback. He has some naked manikins with white cloth patches stuck to them. WTH?
Yeah, I know small business need to survive and folks need jobs...but retailers you are discouraging FOOT TRAFFIC in your venues and making people want to shop online even more!
Yeah, I know around December low-info consumers hundreds for the salve or whatever as a gift .
Crabtree Valley Mall? no such people getting in my face
Oh well, at least CTC will have a Halloween store opening soon.
I did actually complain to the management at Cary Towne about a year and a half ago about some of their vendors calling out to me and almost physically stopping me as I walked through the mall. I notice less of it now, but I'm also there a lot less!
In Costco I just look straight ahead or I tell them 'no thank you'. That seems to be enough.
Gee, I love the samples they give out!
I don't get what the big deal is about any of this. Just say no thank you, or pretend you don't see them. Keep walking. Really, there are plenty of better things to get wound up about, aren't there?
The irritating teenage cashiers at the Leesville Harris Teeter!
"How is your weekend going, do you have any big plans, oh, that's my favorite kind of cereal, too, did you make it to the beach this summer, did you get your black-eyed peas for New Years Eve."
Some customers seem to eat that up. Me? I'd like to get on with my life. You're not being paid to have a conversation with me.

This MO is par for the course. I used to s=be astounded at what people would put up with. I sat in the food court once on the second floor looking down at a skin care kiosk and watched people physically stop shopper and these people would actually let themselves be led away to the counter. What is wrong with people.
The favorite MO in NY is they call out to you "can I ask you one question" and I would reply "yup, and you just did!"

Try the Trader Joe's in Cary - same thing. Some people really do love that stuff.
They are everywhere now. It peeves me when someone in a "Home Depot", "Sears", "Best Buy" shirt approaches me and asks if I need any help. I then respond yes, and tell them what I'm looking for or start asking a technical question. They then respond, that they can try to help or find someone to help me, and then ask if I need a new roof, kitchen cabinets, DirecTV, etc! Really? Don't ask if you can help me if you CAN'T!
