I don't blame you there. I can only imagine the hell of Vietnam.

This is not the correct area or time stated, but maybe related?

I live near there and hear fireworks about every year for Diwali. I heard it tonight and the sound and duration sure sounded like fireworks.

This is exactly what I was thinking - I live in West Raleigh, and it's not uncommon to hear fireworks (from individuals) during the celebrations. And afterwards, depending on what they might have leftover!

Interesting. Good to know, as I was not aware of Diwali. I hear such sounds often, and can usually decipher what it is, but this was more distant from me tonight, and was hard to make out. I love fireworks as it is, and more power to them if it was .

Growing up out in the country; it was never uncommon to hear gun shots at 3A.M. But having moved into a more populated and regulated area, hearing what sounded like a firefight made me go:

It is always good to take notice. Even if no threat exists. Lets hope it stays that way.

Yup Diwali. It happens every year especially with the large Indian population in this area and our proximity to many Hindu temples. You may have even noticed some homes with outdoor "Christmas" lights around their homes. Not early birds either, but Diwali.

I've heard fireworks the last couple of nights and I figured they were for Diwali. I'm by High House and 55.

"Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you're always afraid"

Buffalo Springfield wrote this long ago, not the same situation of course, but it is important to avoid paranoia. Unless told otherwise, keep your head down but continue to think beautiful thoughts or your mind will no longer be free.

I was cleaning out a rental property in Apex yesterday evening and heard what sounded like fireworks or gun shots. I was in, let's just say older less affluent part of town from my observation. I did lock the doors since I couldn't determine the source of the sound. Lol
