I want to rent a car for three months, where can I rent a car at a lower price?
Do you have any suggestions? thanks a lot!

Wow, 3 months.. that's a really long time. I was able to rent a car for a week @ $120 by going through Costco's website. I watched the price over a period of weeks - it dropped from $220 - $120 and I jumped on the deal. For 3 months though - not sure.

Virtually all rental agencies have monthly rates and special numbers to call as they have different terms. They typically include additional clauses (i.e. a Preventive Maintenance requirement) and usually allow swapping cars within the rental period. After 60 days many (all?) are actually a short term ("mini") lease vs a true rental.
If you work for a company with rental car agreements those agreements often offer extensions to non work related rentals.

I had a friend once rent a car from a dealership. Some thing like Capital Ford. It was way cheaper than a rental company.

Good luck.

Not sure what your needs, requirements, or resources are, but you might also consider buying something off of Craigslist and selling it when you are done.

Even at $100 a week for rental (I doubt you can find that rate), you are looking at $1300. If you don't need fancy, you could buy a car for $1500-$2000 and have very little risk. Note that there are some additional costs such as registration and taxes, and insurance. Still think you'd come out ahead IF it could fit your situation.

I've thought about doing this to bridge my next car purchase, so I don't have to settle for trade in prices. (If I need to sell my car first, before buying the next, to have a "bridge" car...).

One month after we moved here, our only vehicle died a traumatic, sudden death due to an engine defect (Cummins replaced it at no charge, but it took months of wrangling with them). During that time, we rented a car from Budget on a month-to-month basis. It was god-awful expensive, but we were in a real jam and had no choice.

As someone suggested above, you'd be better off buying a beater. You'll go broke in a hurry with a rental.
