New home being built and looking to do some audio speaker wiring in the house and on patio...any suggestions on who to call and/or any specific ideas on wiring locations, etc?

Your builder will typically have you meet with a person who does audio and video if you are buying in a neighborhood. If it's a completely custom build they can give you a reference.

I have Sonos in my house and absolutely love it. No need to worry about wiring or anything. You can buy their speakers, or use the bricks/amps and use your own. If you are planning to have a home theater then yes I would wire it. Install two hdmi cords where the projector will go in case one fails. Or have smurf tube installed so you can fish more wiring if needed.

For home theater speakers, run enough wires for a Dolby Atmos setup Dolby Atmos 7.1.2 Speaker Setup

Is this just audio for music and surround sound?

If so, I'd go for family room, rec room, and screen porch. Or, do you literally have just an uncovered deck or patio? If so, you'll want to speak with the wiring person about best placements in an open area.

If your builder doesn't have an audio wiring contractor, I'd call Secur-Tek. They do excellent work.
