I'm sure some posters have experience with this. When going from YR elementary school, to YR middle school - do we automatically keep the same track? If I wanted to switch tracks going into middle school, would I have a decent shot?

I think they generally try to keep you on the same track but yr middle is not guaranteed just because you have yr elementary. At least that's my understanding from parents who were forced to traditional. Not sure about odds of switching tracks but would think it depends on the popularity of tracks you want to change to/from. A less popular track like 2 to 1 or 4 is probably less likely than the reverse.

Thanks. Yeah it made me think about the kids switching from traditional ES to YR middle. Do they get stuck in the least popular tracks because they are not "grandfathered in" on a track?

My guess is they'll get put in whatever track has openings. We are YR on track 2 and love it for the record but not everyone does.
