I stopped by Costco this weekend but didn't have time to get into details because I was shopping with the spouse. I already used up my "free time" looking at laptops. The rep did say they had Pixel XL in black.

I do have a Verizon store up the street from work. I plan to swing on by there at some point.

I know you generally get a better deal at Costco, is that still true?

I also have to deal with changing my data plan because I'm on an old 6 Gig plan and I understand now there are different data plans.

I would be interested to know about anyone's recent experience buying this phone locally.

I am shopping for the Pixel. I have my Moto Droid Maxx 2 on craigslist and as soon as it gone I will be looking at both the Pixel and the newest Moto G5. Both of these are on my shopping list because they are unlocked and have all the bands so you can use the same phone for Verizon, ATT, T-Mobile and Sprint.

Thank you for replying. Any idea if the Pixel is a real world phone? Can you pop in an overseas sim if you are on verizon? I hate that I can't do that now.

What in your opinion makes the Pixel interesting?

I think you just switch to Google Fi sim card when out of the country, or try any sim card.
