Can anyone recommend a restaurant in Chapel Hill that has a room that will hold about 45 people for dinner? I need a place that is reasonable in price.

What do you consider reasonable, when are you looking to plan this, and what kind of food?

Are you looking to do a rehearsal dinner?

The Carolina Inn or Il Palio would be good bets....

Something informal?

Mama Dips is right downtown and has great southern food, you would probably have to reserve the room but I bet they good seat 45...

Off the top of my head, most of the other restaurants on Franklin would be pretty tight to fit 45.

Bailey's Pub out by University Mall has function rooms...

I think the Weathervane at A Southern Season could probably handle a group that size in their upstairs area.

There are only a few places in town with banquet rooms: Spankys, Carolina Brewery, and Weathervane. I think its occasionally possible to rent out the patio at 411. Oh, sometimes you can get the upstairs at Spice Street too.

I had my rehearsal dinner at Carolina Brewery, and everyone was pretty happy.

What about Spice Street. It is right by Weathervane, and I know it is sometimes used as a club for larger get togethers. I'm sure they can make room for you guys one night?

Default large group for dinner

Thanks, everyone. I will check out these places. The food just needs to be good, but not fancy. It is for a rehearsal dinner and want it to be nice, but can't afford to go overboard.
