There was a discussion over on Flyertalk about horrible check in times. I thought I'd see if anyone here has done it recently.

Have you traveled on Delta recently and checked in a bag at RDU, either in coach/biz/first. How long did it take you?

Check in on kiosk, bring your bags to the bag collection. 10 minutes on a bad day?

DS went to Europe a couple months ago via Delta and the teacher in charge of the trip set up special services so they had their own kiosk and bag check. That said, there was a decent line to check in at the Delta counter, but I can't see how it could have moved that slowly. If you're checking a bag and don't want to check in at a kiosk, I would consider arriving at the airport extra early, especially if you are traveling during a peak time like this week (spring break). I believe you can slo utilize curbside check in at RDU.

The kiosk idea is a good one. But are you saying it only took you 10 minutes to wait in line? Really?

If you have access to the priority line, it's usually fine. If you don't, the bag drop line can be very long if you hit it at the wrong time. I've had friends complain it took them almost an hour to get through it.

The last time I flew out I had maybe a 10 minute wait. I think there was 1 person in front of me in line to get to the counter.

The few times I've checked bags I've never had an issue, but of course it will depend on when you're flying. This week? I'd leave some extra time.

Not traveling soon. And not near any holidays. Leaving on a Friday so shouldn't be a big line.

Fridays are generally pretty busy. Same with Mondays.
