I usually plug the holes with steel wool for starters. They won't eat through it.

I have never heard of carpenter bees brutally attacking anyone. Are you harassing them? Otherwise they will leave you alone.

OP said they were attacking his house, not people.

I use carpenter bee traps. Takes care of the problem in a relatively short time. Been using them for a few years. They used to be thick, now we only see a few. With the trap they can check in but can never check out!

His family house, haha. Got it. Read too quickly. Or else the OP was edited.

We had this problem on our screened porch and the pest control company suggested filling the holes and good thick coat of paint on the entire thing. It did the trick. I guess they look for structures that are more raw to bore through.

If you have a garden, you want those carpenter bees around; they're great pollinators. To keep them from boring holes in your house, get them their own place.

I don't get it. How do you convince them to eat the bee house instead of your own house? I get them every year in the exact same place...one of these years I'm going to end up with a hole shaped like a screen door where the screen door used to be.
