I'm willing to drive to get one...

Of course I already have another table on order, but my heart is really set on getting a live edge table like the one in the pictures below. (But the 60" one pictured below is $27,000! I don't want one that badly, plus I need 80" long and 36" wide)

Another one but in Maryland....

English Walnut Slab table (http://www.custommade.com/gallery/furniture-MD/walnut-table.html - broken link)

This guy below might be your best bet! I guess some people call them slab tables.

Nice work Omamia! I'm going to call that store in MD tomorrow! Ironically, the table I'm getting is coming from MD (but with matching chairs, not benches):

Not that you asked for my opinion but I'm going to give it anyway.

I like the table you ordered better than the one you posted at the top of this thread. It's gorgeous!

Oooooh, thank you!! I'll have to have you over for dinner on it, when it arrives.

I had been wanting if for some time, but then saw that live edge one. After I saw the price on the live edge table, I went back to my first choice, and called every store from coast to coast to find one available for 'quick ship'.

(It's from a manufacturer called Environment Furniture. The top is all reclaimed peroba wood, and the base is responsibly harvested, solid mahogany. Nice and 'green')

Don't tempt me! I do love to eat!

Ok.. besides the fact that 27K for a table is one tough pill to swallow (regardless of my financial position, I wouldn't even spend that on a car but that's just me), that table looks... i dunno... very rustic or country-ish to me. The one you ordered has beatiful tones, clean lines and is very sleek without looking too modern. It's MUCH prettier to me. But that's JMO! I'm sort of a minimalist so that might explain it.

I actually thought the lady on the phone was joking when she said $27k. In fact, I laughed out loud. That's a simply CRAZY amount to pay for a table. The one in the picture is $108k!

I'm a minimalist, too. Clean lines. No 'fru fru'. I was thinking that the clean lines of the living room set I ordered would off set the rusticness of the live edge table. But I think I'll be happy with the 'santomer' (that's what it's called). Plus my shopping around paid off. I got it for a fantastic discount. We love discounts!

holy crap! (can I say crap on here?) um.. see this is what's wrong with the world. There are starving and homeless people but some nincompoop will pay 108K for a piece of wood!

PS I think you made the better choice and discounts rule!
