I moved to raleigh in Aug. and bought a house. I didn't get a tax statement for my house to do my taxes with. Could someone tell me if I should have. If yes would you know who I would have to contact to get one or a website. I checked raleighnc.gov but didnt see anything, maybe I'm just looking in the wrong spot. Thanks!

Which tax statement are you referring to? If you have a mortgage, your mortgage holder should send you a 1098 form listing the interest you paid during the year for deduction purposes. If you have escrow through them, it should also list the property tax you paid through them, which is also deductible.

You should also have received a property tax bill from Wake County, which you would have essentially ignored if it was being paid through escrow. You can also find copies of the bills and payments through the Wake County site.

Look in your Dec and Jan regular statements you would have recd. I've seen them (1098) printed on the bottom of a regular statement, maybe you overlooked it? if not, then if your bank does a regular monthly summary, your january statement may have the info you need, ck the ending date on the summary for interest paid.
