Yep, there do seem to be plenty of true one floor homes in FL. I've been looking in Tampa and while the houses look great the prices don't. For an area that's supposed to have one of the worst housing markets in the country, the houses don't reflect that. The houses are still pretty dang pricey.

Although there are not many homes in Six Forks North on the market right now, the subdivision has about 50% ranch homes. They were built in the 70's but many have been fully updated. Another plus is most of the homes sit on decent land.

Another place to check is Westborough. It's off Glenwood Ave. these homes were built from the mid 90s to about 2004.

Don't forget North Hills. There are ranch homes there again older but most have been updated.

I put in a search for ranch homes in Raleigh between 150k and 500k and got 300 listeings. Plenty are TRUE ranch homes.

Good Luck.
