Just wondering if there are amusement/water parks within reasonable driving distance of the triangle area?

Carowinds (near Charlotte), King's Dominion (VA) and Busch Gardens (Va). All are approx a 3-4 hour drive. Also Emerald Pointe Water park is in Greensboro (1 hour) and Busch Gardens iin Va has a water too (Water Country USA or something like that).

Carowinds and Kings Dominion each have water parks within them as well (one ticket price).

Thanks. I'm surprised there's nothing like Busch Gardens that's closer...I suppose that's not too bad a drive. I'm used to being in VA where Busch Gardens or King's Dominion are both within an hour. That's ok though, a few hours' drive is no big deal.

Luckily it's not a bad drive. Not much traffic or anything!

Hi

I took my son to Silver Lake the other day. He had a lot of fun and it was reasonable. They had one decent waterslide and a few smaller slides as well as some other neat things.
I was not overly impressed and it is surely not in the category of Busch Gardens but it is local and cost $20 for the both of us.
They do have a website.

They also have amusements and a waterpark in Myrtle Beach, SC. Don't know where you're from, but it kind of reminds me of Wildwood, NJ w/o the boardwalk. We really enjoy going there and it's about 3 hours from the Raleigh area. The hotel rooms are very reasonable. Alot of them have a lazy river with waterslides. If you go in September the rates really drop. We stay there with a kitchen, directly on the beach, with a Sunday-Thursday (check-out Fri) special for $125.00. They even give you fresh waffles, fruit and OJ for breakfast. It's unbelievable and safe! It's an older place, but that allows us to do so much more while we are there. We figure you only sleep there.

We went to Carowinds last month and really liked it. Ticket prices were very reasonable...we had a coupon and I think we paid $115 or so total for 2 adults 2 kids. Very fun...loved the water park. And the fried chicken is phenomenal...you have to get it. Good for kids our age...which is 6...lots of "real" rollercoasters they could ride on. We will go back.

Has anybody been to the Hard Rock theme park in SC? I see the billboard everyday on 95 and was wondering how it was.
