Everyone on City-Data has been so helpful with a information on different suburbs. One more question...

Looking at some homes in between Falls of The Neuse Rd and Capital Blvd. Also, we're looking at some homes between Capital Blvd and Louisburg Rd.

Not living in Raleigh, I keep hearing that Capital is a traffic nightmare. I also hear folks taking alternates into I-540 on Neuse and Louisburg.

Just wanted to know how good or bad these alternate routes into town or to I-540 are like.

Thoughts?

Thanks a ton.

Chris

Louisburg would probably be too far out of your way (unless you are headed east on 540). The problem with Falls of Neuse Rd is that it has only one lane in each direction north of Raven Ridge Rd so you might want to avoid that section. It's really a matter of the exact start and end points of your trip.

I live between Louisburg Rd and Capital Blvd and commute into Raleigh every day. There is traffic, but you are constantly moving. I don't consider it bad. One of the reasons I selected my location was the option of taking Louisburg Rd or Capital Blvd for my commute. You can turn onto Durant Rd and take Falls of the Neuse or Litchford Rd into Raleigh.

I'm south of Burlington Mills. From my experience, traffic tends to be stop and go commuting from Wake Forest via Capital Blvd north of Burlington Mills.
