I am looking for a local nursery that might have these plants.
*Lilac bushes
*Honeysuckle
*Norway Maple: "Crimson King" Tree
*Clematis
*Hydrangea
*Cherry Blossom Tree
*Dwarf Meyer Lemon Tree
Also, I need fertilizer for centipede grass.
I know the clematis and the hydrangea aren't that hard to find but I would prefer to buy one-stop if possible. I have had no luck in Cary and Apex. I have just started to look in Johnston Co.
Any recommendations?
Thanks.

DeWaynes in Smithfield. It is just down the road from the outlet mall. Awesome place with great selection. A high end nursery.

I just went to Tarheels Nursery & Old Stage Nursery (across the street) in the last few weeks and I can't imagine that they wouldn't have everything on your list for great prices. They are on Old Stage road outside in Angier. Broadwells is also in the area. Tarheels has mostly annuals & some perennials, Old Stage has "woody" perennials and trees. Have fun...I did!

You must visit Broadwells and Old Stage Nursery at some point. Both are more wholesale nurseries that also sell retail (cash and checks only). Broadwells is HUGE - acres and acres. You drive around and load up your car. But ... plants aren't labelled as to what they are or how much they cost. You can always ask a worker, but mostly you're on your own. Still, the savings are tremendous - literally 75-90% less than you'd pay at retail. Old Stage is similar, although (a) not as large, and (b) most plants are labelled with what they are (although not price). Tarheel has lots of perennials -but it's more of a retail type establishment (and it's prices are retail like as well).

Saturday is your only weekend day - Broadwell's, at least, is not open Sunday. But it's worth a drive. You can load up the back of an SUV and barely spend $100.

FYI - the evergreen varieties of clematis can be more difficult to find. Be sure you understand what type you're buying - many of the varieties out there are not evergreen (if that's what you want).

OK one last post:

A good, large, full-service local retail nursery is Homewood in North Raleigh. Excellent staff and very helpful. They carry a lot of stuff.

A couple of small, specialty nurseries with a personal touch are Niche Gardens and Unique Plant in Chapel Hill. Small, personally run, knowledgeable one-on-one attention. Almost any of them will get whatever you want if they don't have it in stock.

Logan's at Seaboard Station is huge, and my obsessive gardener father never misses a trip there when he's in town.

I got a Meyer lemon from Homewood just yesterday. CHTransplant is right - the staff is excellent. Plus, it's just a beautiful nursery. Even if you don't buy anything, it's a beautiful place to wander around.

If you don't find what you're looking for, ask. It might be too early/late in the season to find what you want, or they might be able to special order it for you.

I also go to Homewood and I know they carry clematis, hydrangeas and lilac bushes. They probably carry the other things too. You can call them and ask anyway - that's what I do if I'm looking for something specific.
