Hello -

I am looking for recommendations for o/b's who have privileges to deliver at Wake Med. I just found out today that my very favorite doctor has left the practice and moved to California (he was with Kamm, Mackenzie - and he was the only doctor I really liked there).

I went to Associates in Women's Healthcare when I was pregnant with my son two years ago, and had a terrible experience with them (had a poorly handled high-risk pregnancy) - plus, I wasn't crazy about Rex, and live much closer to Wake Med.

If anyone has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated!

I was going to recommend Dr. White at Kamm McKenzie-he delivered my son when he was a resident at UNC. He's not the one leaving, is he? I wish I had more options for you, the only ones I know deliver at WakeMed Cary.

YESSSS - Dr. White is the one who left!! I LOVED that man so, SOOOO much. I had a high-risk first pregnancy, struggled with infertility and a miscarriage earlier this year, and he was the first person I met who made me feel confident that he was the doctor I just had to have and that everything would be okay. I literally hung up the phone and cried when the appointment lady told me had moved to California. I've also seen Dr. Mackenzie and Privette, but they didn't begin to compare to Dr. White. I'm 6 weeks pregnant now, and am kind of freaking out about having to start all over again finding someone, etc. I had such a bad experience with Associates that I'm a bit gun-shy.

Oh man, that stinks! He was great! I was using the UNC Midwives for my first pregnancy, but when I developed pre-eclampsia and had a very rough labor and delivery, he stepped in and took over. It was a tough situation trusting a doctor who I had never met before, but he made me feel so comfortable. I didn't find out where he ended up going until after I had my second child or I would have driven all that way just to see him again!

Any chance of you wanting to deliver at WakeMed Cary? There's a great doctor out this way, Dr. Welch, who is highly recommended and from what I hear sounds a lot like Dr. White.
