There's a rumor that Duke Hospital and Durham Regional Hospital have a service that they hire to go fetch doctors during snow storms but I can't find a private car services that has any vehicles that are 4x4 capable. Can anyone confirm or deny the existence of such a thing????

Its probably the hospitals own security/maintenance vehicles and employees.

White Horse in Raleigh has Suburbans. I'm not sure if they service Durham or if they're 4x4's, but it might be worth looking into.

There are some local 4x4 clubs that volunteer to do this kind of stuff for some of the hospitals also.

Even if there is such a thing, it's very likely that the area hospitals keep them so busy that they wouldn't have time for additional jobs.

I wonder if Uber uses 4x4's with their "XL" and "Select" service?

Be aware that 4x4 will not help on ice. I learned this in a Willys Jeep with 4x4 and chains on all 4 wheels.
