Does anyone here have children in North Garner Middle School? On Great schools.net they really don't have anything good to say about..IE fighting, low test scores and so on. I would like to hear what you parents think of the school. The good and the bad. Thanks!

I lived in Raleigh all my life so I was always familar with the Wake County school system. When I was moving, I also saw how low the Garner schools ranked. If I was you, I would try to move as close to Johnston county as possible, the Clayton schools ranked higher (and are alot better than Wake!) so that was a deciding factor when I moved.

I have some friends who have children in the Garner schools (not sure which ones) and they are quite unhappy.

Sorry I couldnt help more!

Unfortunately I have not heard very things about that school either. Two people I know in Garner finally threw in the towel and moved to Raleigh specifically to get out of that school. I don't know details and it's all second hand, but that's what I've heard.
Sorry!

I was looking at a beautiful development over that way. However because of that middle school I am looking else where. I have heard terrible things too.

I currently have two children at NGMS, and a third that is now at the high school. Rumor is a terrible thing I must say. I too had heard horrible things about NGMS when my son was getting ready to go to middle school. I tried to get him into a magnet school a failed so I applied for a transfer again failed so I went to NGMS and talked to them. I had no choice my child was going weather I liked it or not. During his the spring of his sixth grade year the school got a new principal. The whole school changed, staff was glad to be there changes were great. I LOVE NGMS. If you go by there go in and see the school talk to the principal, talk to the staff, talk to the children. I think you will find rumor is a terrible thing. Yes scores are not the greatest but the are getting better every year. Just my opinion.
