If all sellers were to re paint and re carpet and just de clutter and clean and price that house right, as you did...their's will sell in a short period of time as well.
I will very specifically be looking for a home with NO Carpeting. I hate the thought of being in constant contact with a petrolem distillate. It is plastic, for heaven's sake!
We re-carpeted our home last summer and the carpet fibres are made from corn cellulose, not oil derived products. And there is always the age old wool alternative too. Padding could be trickier, but jute (a plant product) is probably still available
On a side note, since it sounds as if you might find this interesting, you can now buy car tires made from Canola Oil. I am not kidding! The Nokian Tire Company (was part of the Nokia conglomerate, famous for cell phones, for decades) based in Finland, now builds some of their tires from a renewable canola oil based compound.
Looks very nice and congrats! What color paint did you wind up going with for the interior? It looks very similar to the color I painted my Apex house - makes the white trim "pop" without being overwhelming.
Thanks all. I'm not happy with the amount of money it cost to do all the work, but it did sell almost immediately so at least that's good.
For the interior color, I'm not quite certain. My painter matched what was there and he didn't tell me what it was. I completely agree about the trim "popping" - that seems to be a key thing for me and I imagine others seem to like it as well.
