We moved here 6 years ago, and have yet to find a FM station (morning commute) that actually has more music than talking. I am looking for an adult-contemporary station.
Any suggestions?
I am getting tired of the morning"personality" talking about themselves and their plans for the weekend, etc. So, for now, I listen to Jazz on a public Station.

I wish I knew.

I listen to 100.7, The River, which is classic rock. I like the station because they do play mostly music in the morning. What I don't like it that there is not much variety. They play the same 100 or so songs. Plus, I wish they would throw in some alternative.

Get Sirius/XM or use an iPod.

Agreed, I had Sirius originally for all the long-distance weekend trips I was taking, and thought about ditching it. When I moved down here, I found myself keeping my subscription due to the choices on FM here. Plus, Sirius/XM has had crazy retention deals for a long while now, so it's pretty cheap (I pay $20 for 5 months).

Yeah, I wouldnt call it a local thing it seems to be a national thing.

What I don't understand is why all stations think that when I climb in to my car ... pissed off at the world (you know how you are when you first wake up) that I want to hear three people laughing it up and making jokes. I mean some morning shows are decent ... but for the most part they are not funny. Maybe if I could wake up to a professional comedian then id be pumped about it.

I gave up on radio when I moved here. No modern rock stations. I ended up getting XM radio, which I was very happy with. But then they merged with Sirius and all my stations went away, so I had to move to the Sirius "replacement". Not as good as XM at all. DJs talk too much and the play lists aren't as deep. I also download songs off the web and burn them to CDs and listen to them in the car.

You would think with the area growing and as diverse it is, they would start getting some new stations. Maybe they should do some surveys to see what ppl would like.

Radio here really does blow, there is not even a real Rock station anymore. I switched to Sirius about 2 years ago and liked it, but I believe the content has gone downhill in the past 6 months. I have Sirius in 2 cars, and need it in a 3rd, but I don't think I will renew it in the summer.

If you're really adverse to getting Sirius, 93.9 and 99.5 both have more music than talk in the mornings.
