Is it a smart field to go into with our current economic situation? Or does it just depend on your skill level and persistence? I have several years of marketing and sales experience, which I believe could come in useful.
Thanks in advance for your responses. Give it to me straight please!

It will help some but contacts are key. Don't expect to make much the first year or two. Commercial and residential are very different. Really study up on calculating returns, income projections, etc etc.
