Hello all!

I am currently in the process of preparing for my real estate exam. I am looking to enter the Commercial Real Estate field as a broker, and was wondering if there are any current/former Chicago brokers on this board that can give me their opinions on my potential career choice. Is it a smart field to go into with our current economic situation? Or does it just depend on your skill level and persistence? I have several years of marketing and sales experience, which I believe could come in useful.

Thanks in advance for your responses. Give it to me straight please!

Hope you have plenty of money in savings. It could take many months to land your first deal.

It will help some but contacts are key. Don't expect to make much the first year or two. Commercial and residential are very different. Really study up on calculating returns, income projections, etc etc.
