Can anyone steer me in the right direction? I need information on where to find government grants or state grants for purchasing a home for the first time (alone), and incorporating a business there as well. There must be programs I would be eligible for right? Any info at all is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Contact a local real estate or 3 and ask them. Many times grants are done locally. I could tell about 3 or 4 different ones but they are exclusive to either SC or a specific county.

You could also go straight to lender but you might as well find an agent that knows about them to help you from the start. They'll probably be better than the average agent. Contact at least 3 though to make sure.

hmmm...you want to purchase a residence and then have a home based business? Unless you want to turn your home into a sweat shop, the fact that you have a home office doesn't typically impact that ability to get a mortgage on your primary residence.

You also need to check zoning laws and make sure what you want to do is allowed.

I know in Oregon our bond program is going away.
