(sheepishly holding up hand) I am one of those folks who wanted to put my house up in spring- March 2008 to be exact. Just because by then we will have paid off a good chunk of debt, hopefully our neighbors who are renting next door won't be there anymore, and thought the market would be good/ possibly even better by then.
My DD is still small and not in school yet so we us getting another home before school starts isn't an issue for us like I was thinking it might be for other folks looking.
If it's better for us to sell in the summer we can. Or even Fall 2008. But would love to get out of our present neighborhood as soon as we could and to do it no sooner than March is financially the smartest thing we could do. Also it seems in San Antonio and surrounding areas the homes have pretty much stayed steady as far as the type of home we have to sell vs. the kind we want to be in next.
