Call the lawyer who did the real estate deal for you and get his or her opinion...the answers you're getting are just guesses.

Call a local mobile home park office and offer to buy them coffee and donuts for 15 minutes of their time. Ask them what they would do if someone abandoned a mobile home in their park. I'm sure it happens.

Or...... Spray paint "Burn Me" on the side. Put cans of gas outside. Let the local rednecks take care of it. The only thing left will be metal. Call scrap dealer. Done.

Just wait until the next tornado or hurricane, one of them will remove it for you.

Seriously, though, get an Attorneys advice. Every city and state has different rules and laws so you need to comply with the ones where you live. We can all offer guesses but that is all you will get for free.

After a certain amount if time it could be considered abandoned and you can lean the mobile home due to the abandonment. Once lean paperwork goes through its yours to do as you please. You can always wait till the IRS comes to repossess the mobile home

If it turns out you can do what you like with it, sell it for scrap. I imagine a large part of the towing price is making sure it can be put together again at the new location. If it's scrap, that ceases to be a problem. A co-worker of mine had a mobile home for a second home and had a total loss fire. He sold the foundation frame to a farmer to use as a hay hauler.

That's a different story, they would probably fix it a bit and rent it out or sell it...he wants it off his property which is expensive.

Mobile homes have titles like cars. You can't just sell them if you dont own it. If they fixed it, the real owner could just show back up and say "thanks for fixing it" I'm sure a mobile home park has terrible mobiles beyond fixing and has a method to deal with this.

I don't know what state you live in, but I think in NYS, a single or double-wide mobile home that has had its wheels and hitch removed or that has an addition added to it is considered a permanent structure for tax purposes. Whether it's on its own land or on a lot in a mobile home park, it's considered a building and the entire property, land and structure, is assessed at "fair market value". In the case of a mobile home in a park, the tax bill goes to the park owner -- the assessor doesn't attempt to determine who owns each unit, just the entire property. The park owner includes the taxes in the lot rent, just like the taxes on an apartment or rental house are included in the rent.

A travel trailer or camping trailer is not considered a permanent structure and is not taxed unless somebody removes the wheels/hitch or builds an addition onto it, making it "permanent". I have the wheels on my camper on my land just for that reason.

Can't speak for other states, but in FL a mobile home is a mobile home even without wheels or a trailer hitch. It has a title that must be renewed annually like a car or boat whether it is on a foundation or not.
