We were suppose to close escrow early , per listing agent. House is flip house investor owned. Now when we are scheduled to close, everything in storage and living in hotel because seller is in Taiwan and has not signed grant deed so cannot close until that is signed. Listing agent has stopped responding to emails and phone calls from my agent as to when he will be back or when are we going to be able to close. In the meantime my dogs are in boarding, my stuff is in storage and I'm living in a hotel with no answers. Can they just ignore us??
Sounds like you have a few days before the seller is in a failure to perform situation. Is it possible the seller will return or will grant power of attorney to his attorney to act on his behalf?
Is the title clean?
Is there something that prevents your agent from physically tracking down the listing agent or the listing agent's managing broker?
We don't know when he is going to return, they just tell us that he is trying to get notarized in Taiwan, but that requires appt at us embassy. Not sure about title? Seller just purchased in June and re-listed in August. My down payment has been wired to escrow already. Listing agent is broker and owns escrow company.
Yes, I did have it inspected. It was in good condition, they just basically painted and put new flooring, but try to make a huge profit. I just found out seller doesn't even live in this country. Every day listing agent tells us he is going to talk to him tonight, and we never get actual date of when we are going to close.

When you say you just found out the seller doesn't live in this country, does that mean ever? So he's not just on a trip. How can this be his first property and he doesn't know what he's doing and his realtor didn't tell him what to do?
I think a conversation with an attorney is in order.

I guess I'll never understand why someone would want to buy from a flipper like this instead of doing a little work themselves on a house. Buying a house in need of cosmetic repairs is the easiest way to build up equity.
