So I ran out of Bob's Red Mill Steel Cut Rolled Oats and everywhere I shop was out of them. I saw this can on the shelf and said I'll try it. Opened the can and my first thought was miniature rabbit pellets. I make overnight refrigerator oatmeal with the Red Mill oats and them warm it up at the office in the morning.
So I tried the overnight recipe with the McCann's. YUK! Not wanting to waste it I made the traditional recipe from the can which takes 35-45 minutes. A revelation. Yummy! Like little berries bursting in your mouth! So the recipe makes a lot. One cup of oats to 4 cups of water. Divided it up into 4 servings and heat it up at work. Butter milk and honey. I feel healthier already!
Someone once told me McCann's were the best ever (and you can mail order them, they're very popular) and you could tell they were Irish because a little bit made up into enough to feed a family. Of 10.

Very true!!! I can tell you that looks are deceiving. They taste great. I doubt I will ever eat anything but McCann's from now on.
