So I decided to try something new tonight, and on the way home, I picked up some jalapenos and habaneros, as well as a little bag of William's Spicy Wings coating mix. I used some cream cheese with chives and herbed chevre goat cheese for the filling, and then - just for the hell of it - used coconut cream instead of milk for battering.

Kind of a poncey take on everyone's favorite finger food

They turned out awesome, especially the habaneros, aside from the fact that the batter didn't seem to want to stick after I took them out to cool! Anyone got some advice? I don't really batter things all that often.

Sounds good! I like to wrap in bacon and put on the smoker, but I cook everything on the smoker or grill.

Maybe ruff up the skin a bit w/a knife then roll in flour or corn starch, then into batter?

I think if you dipped the Hab in an egg wash then flour and let it sit and setup for like 5 mins before you dip in the batter the batter "should" stay on after you pull it out...just a thought

^Agree, I make jalapeno poppers all the time & it definitely needs to be dipped in egg & then spiced flour or whatever else you're using.
