I just purchased a low pressure pressure cooker (the cooking is done on the stovetop). I've used it once and love it, but have a question (and there are no cookbooks for the low pressure pressure cookers):
In the basic, general directions, it states to always use liquid (water, broth, etc.) as you would in an electric full pressure cooker. However, there are about 10 recipes inclued with the cooker, and none of them say anything about liquids in the directions. ie, recipe for meatballs doesn't call for any liquid, and I can't imagine them floating around in water anyway. Since it's low pressure, is the water requirement not as important or non existant. I'm confused because of the discrepancy between the general directions and the included recipes.
Its got to have at least a cup of water to build the pressure. Steam is wat builds the pressure.
I have both an electric and a stove top. My electric one will kick itself off if there is not enuf liquid to work properly. The other just burns.
