Dunno how "representative", but just my purely "unscientific" observation is that greater economic independence is translating into fewer and fewer women, of all ages, wanting to choose "marriage", or in many cases, even a Long Term Relationship (LTR) anymore. And even single motherhood is definitely on the increase. "Serial monogamy" seems to be the emerging norm, along with increasingly shorter "relationships".

But I suspect another part of that isn't just about gaining more economic "freedom" and autonomy. Study after study is showing that we're becoming an increasingly Narcissistic society. And one of the primary symptoms of serious narcissism is an inability to "do" close personal relationships to begin with! BTW, has anyone noticed how many single women these days, now say that their "best friend" is their dog?!

I'm willing to speculate some of these men will marry women from developing countries who make less than them.. not saying it's right or wrong or anything.

I thought dog was mans best friend.
What I've noticed is maybe divorced women saying their pets are of most importance. Most single (never married) women I know are too busy dating to worry with pets.

Makes sense. After you find out one species is not your best friend, you look for another...

Thats a process that has been going on for a while now, though.

In this specific case, I think the attitude that starts threads about womens responsibility for rape has got to go.
Stalking people on forums is also bad.
