Yes, there is a difference between cheap and expensive sake. Like any other alcoholic beverage, it gets smoother as you go up in price. Some are dry and some are sweet, but the good ones are consistent. Oh, and disregard James Bonds advice on the drinking temperature, it's best served slightly chilled.
Rice brandy just can't ever tempt me... I think it's supposed to be strong, but it's probably not stronger than tequilla, let's say, or any other brandy.

I know i should be served chilled. I think the cheap sake is the sake that should be served warm?
