I don't really know how to make myself less intimidating, I'm a 6'1 chick mechanic with tattoos
I'm a social butterfly though, so maybe I'll try to be a little 'flirtier' instead of friendly. I'm going out with some girlfriends this weekend so maybe a ladies weekend is what I need
6-1 and a mechanic? Ding ding ding. Winner in my book. Taller woman rule.
As a self-proclaimed intelligent, nice guy, I can say that I rarely approach women at all. My main problem is introversion I think. I generally assume every good looking woman is already taken, and maybe out of my league, because I just don't have the socially outgoing nature, and it seems that most women want that. It's a self-improvement area for sure. I guess my point is that intelligent, nice men are generally not very socially outgoing, so you may need to do some approaching yourself if that's what you're going for. Personally I'm turned on by tattoos on women (good ones at least), and if they're intelligent too then I can't help but turn into a useless blob of goo. Your picture is very nice by the way!
Ditch the "league" mentality. And you assume wrong if you assume every good looking woman is taken. A lot of 'em spend their time fending off sleazy jerks with a stick, and looking for guys like you. A nice, intelligent, but helpless blob of goo? I could go for that.
some of the people like to keep this myth about 'nice guys' going because it gives them (false) hope that "hey maybe there's a TON of nice guys out there just waiting for me!" Not really. They tell some of these women "oh you just haven't met the right guys," as if there's an untapped reserve of men somewhere
You nailed me! I firmly believe in the hidden untapped reserve of men!

There you go. Flirt with them a little more. You may even have to be completely obvious because if you are subtle, they may well second guess the flirtation and chaulk it up to politeness.

Loosers. They're setting themselves up to become angry, bitter and lonely old men.
My worst fear. I''m not old, and I'm not quite bitter, but I certainly am lonely, and angry at times. Not angry at women, but just at the societal strucure we live in in general you might say.
